You might have noticed, the Lost Map website has been a bit slow with updates over the past few months.  It's mainly because we've been up to our collective chins in preparation / partying for our semi-regular hoolie on the Isle of Eigg, Lost Map's Howlin' Fling!. 

Well, you'll be pleased to know that it happened last weekend, 28th - 30th July 2017 ... and to prove it, we've got a gallery of photos captured at the event by Beth Chalmers, Colin Campbell and Eoin Carey.   This is just the start of our Fling coverage.  If you were there, you can relive the memories ... and if you weren't there?  Well, you can just pretend you were by covering yourself in mud and booze, and rubbing your face closely against the screen.

Pictish Trail's busy summer just got busier and summierererrr.    He's playing the biggest festival in the cosmos, Glastonbury Festival, in June, and is taking the full band with him.   The new album, Future Echoes, has been nominated for Scottish Album Of The Year.  Read on for all upcoming live dates, and other hot gossip. 

Neighbours, everybody needs good neighbours.  In the proverbial 'Stella Street' that is Lost Map, we've got a fair few characters - Rozi Plain, always mowing the lawn; the various Canaveral Kids mucking about on the street corner, swilling Buckfast; Ed Dowie twitching his curtains.   And someone new has just moved into the Savage Mansion at No. 15 ... it's Mr Craig Angus, and his chums.  Let's go and meet them ...

Our favourite dream-pop combo, Lazy Day, played a sold out show at the Servant's Jazz Quarters, in London's fashionable Dalston earlier this week.  It was in support of their brannnd new single, 'With My Mind' ... which is out NOW as part of our prestigious  PostMap series.

Lost Map presents another HOWLIN’ FLING!, taking place on the Hebridean Isle of Eigg on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th July 2017.

Hi, Pictish Trail, here.  Yup, it’s true.  Our biennial event has mutated into an annual one.  Well, for this year, at least.  With the isle of Eigg celebrating its 20th anniversary of righteous community ownership, we thought we’d extend the conga-line.  Since our very first bash in 2010 (entitled Away Game), Howlin’ Fling 2017 will be our fifth event on the isle, and we’re very excited.  We want to party with you.

Whether you're single and looking out or in a relationship and seeking to spice things up a little by meeting other like-minded couples, be sure that Kid Canaveral's ️ Lumber Party II ️ at Stereo in Glasgow on Saturday, February 11, 2017 (tickets priced £10 on sale now) is the Valentines night out for you. We realise this description makes it sound an awful lot like we're promoting some kind of casual hook-ups/swingers night. To be honest we're not going to dissuade you of that notion because we'll shamelessly try just about anything to get people to come along to our events.

We’re starting a new series of intimate all-day Lost Map events, entitled STRANGE INVITATION, in 2017 … with the first taking place on Sunday January 29th at The Strongroom Bar in Shoreditch, London, as part of Independent Venue Week.

You really should you know, it'll be fun. She's not been doing many gigs of late has Rozi, which if you know anything of Rozi's typically never-ending-touring ways then you'll know is quite unusual. Well, apart from that time when she went to Berlin and jammed with Bon Iver and guys from The National and stuff, but y'know, we don't want to seem like we're bragging (we are bragging).  Anyway, she's got a bunch more shows coming up soon, starting with a headline date on Friday, December 9 at Omeara in London, which is a brand new venue in a railway arch at London Bridge which everyone keeps telling us about so we're telling you about it too because we like to share like that.

As you may already know, i'm releasing my new album - Future Echoes - next month, and to celebrate i'm holding an all-day cosmic party at Leith Theatre, in Leith, Edinburgh, on Saturday October 1st. 

I'll be doing a full-on live set with my band, replete with jet-packs and space-boots, playing all the new songs and some golden oldies.  But I'm not playing all day.  Oh no.  I've got some very special guests joining us for the party.   In fact, I can announce the first space-wave of acts who are playing, right now ...

It gives Lost Map great pleasure to introduce Manuela, the London-based project comprising vocalist and songwriter Manuela Gernedel and multi-instrumentalist and producer Nick McCarthy (Franz Ferdinand, FFS), with the release of their debut single ‘Cracks in the Concrete’, which premiered yesterday via Stereogum and is available to stream and share now. Out now as a PostMap postcard single and download, available exclusively from lostmap.com, and accompanied by a thumping disco remix B-side by London DJ Nadia Ksaiba, it’s a joyous introduction to their addictive, eclectic, off-the-wall and instantly refreshing DIY pop sound, and a perfect taster of their forthcoming debut album.

Kid Canaveral have revealed another new track from their forthcoming third album Faulty Inner Dialogue, which will be released by Lost Map Records on July 29, 2016 on vinyl, CD and as a digital download. ‘Tragic Satellite’ is the second song to be aired from the much anticipated follow-up to their Scottish Album of the Year longlisted second album 2013’s Now That You Are A Dancer, after the video for ‘First We Take Dumbarton’ was premiered by The Skinny in May and hailed as Single of the Month by Clash magazine and “a ready-made radio hit” by The List. Kid Canaveral will launch the new album with a show at Summerhall, Edinburgh on Saturday, July 30, with support from Malcolm Middleton.
