Moonfire is the second album from A.R. Pinewood, the indie-cyborg singer-songwriter creation of Adam Ross, the wildly prolific frontman of Randolph’s Leap. The new eight-song collection takes A.R.’s lo-fi, country-pop in a new interstellar direction as space-age synths fuse with planetary poetry. Lead single ‘Grandeur’ is available to stream and share on Bandcamp now, a song which Adam describes as “a lyrical journey across the galaxies and a love song… the recording that set the whole album in motion. A rousing cowboy chorus as we blast off into the cosmos.” Presented as a concept album, 'Moonfire' develops A.R. Pinewood’s backstory and ventures into science fiction as he traverses the universe by wormhole on a mission to save mankind with nothing but a vocoder and a fistful of melodies.

Moonfire is released as a limited edition (of 100) hand-stamped CD-R with 20 page riso-printed zine on August 6th 2021. The accompanying zine contains the album lyrics, as well as a love-letter penned by A.R. Pinewood to his earthling sweetheart, Eva (it also contains her response). A collective effort, the zine features illustrations and design from Faith Eliott (of Glasgow’s OK Pal Records), and a contribution from Rose McConnachie of Kid Canaveral.
